Under-Sink Water Filter That Works With Your Existing Tap
Partagez cet article
Yes — an inline under-sink water filter works with your existing kitchen tap. It sits between the cold-water valve under your sink and your tap's cold-water hose, so all cold water from the tap is filtered. You don't need a second faucet, and you don't need to drill a hole in the worktop.
How it works
- Under your sink, the cold-water supply valve connects to a flexible hose that runs to your tap.
- An inline filter goes between the two: the inlet hose connects to the valve, the outlet hose to your tap's cold-water hose.
- Water flows through the filter cartridge and comes out of your normal tap. Hot water is not filtered.
Most European kitchens use 3/8-inch or 1/2-inch connections. A good kit includes adapters for both.
Existing tap vs separate filter faucet
| Inline filter on your existing tap | Filter with a separate faucet | |
|---|---|---|
| Drilling | None | Usually a hole in the worktop or sink |
| Which water is filtered | All cold water from your tap | Only water from the extra faucet |
| Renters | Suitable — fully removable | Often needs landlord permission |
| Look | Nothing changes above the sink | A second, usually smaller faucet |
| Flow | Depends on the filter; check the L/min rating | Often lower flow from a small faucet |
What to check
- Flow rate. Because all cold water passes through the filter, look for a rating that keeps normal tap flow — around 3–4 L/min or more.
- Connections. 3/8-inch and 1/2-inch adapters included.
- Space. Measure the cabinet; a compact housing fits next to pipes and bins.
- Operating pressure. Check the range against your home (typically 1–6 bar).
- Pull-out and mixer taps. These work too, as long as the cold-water hose can be connected to the filter outlet.
PJURE and your existing tap
The PJURE under-sink water filter is an inline system: it connects to the cold-water line and your existing tap, with 3/8-inch to 1/2-inch adapters included and no drilling. Flow is 3.8 L/min at 4.1 bar, and its chlorine reduction is independently tested at 97% or more through 30,000 litres (results). Installation takes about 10 minutes — see how to install it without a plumber.
Frequently asked questions
Will the hot water be filtered too?
No. Inline filters are connected to the cold-water line only. Use cold water for drinking and cooking.
Does it work with a mixer tap?
Yes. A mixer tap has separate hot and cold hoses; the filter goes on the cold one.
Can I take it with me when I move?
Yes. Disconnect the two hoses, reconnect your tap hose to the valve, and the kitchen is back as it was.
