Under-Sink Water Filter FAQ

PJURE is a stainless steel under-sink water filter built for European homes. It installs in about 10 minutes with no plumber, and uses a 3+1 filtration system — sediment filtration, an activated carbon block, a KDF copper-zinc layer and a final mineral stage. It is independently tested to reduce chlorine by at least 97% through its full 30,000-litre capacity, while keeping the calcium and magnesium that make water taste the way it should.

Most European tap water meets strict EU safety standards. But those standards are tested mainly at the treatment plant and at representative points across the network — not inside every individual building. Older pipes can add sediment, trace metals and taste issues after the water leaves the mains. PJURE filters the water in the last stretch before it reaches your glass, reducing exactly what your own plumbing may have added along the way.

PJURE uses 3+1 filtration: three cleaning stages — sediment filtration (pre-filter and PP membrane), an activated carbon block and KDF copper-zinc media — and a final mineral stage.

It is tested to NSF/ANSI 42 for chlorine reduction (at least 97% through 30,000 litres), and its materials meet NSF/ANSI 372 (lead-free). It reduces chlorine, taste and odour, sediment and many organic compounds, while keeping natural minerals like calcium and magnesium.

Activated carbon is also the most studied home technology for PFAS, but PJURE has not been tested for PFAS. See the technical documentation.

No — PJURE is designed to keep the good stuff.

While it reduces unwanted contaminants, it keeps essential minerals like calcium and magnesium, and its mineral stage helps keep them in balance.

TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) is the total amount of dissolved minerals and salts in water, measured in ppm or mg/L. Most of it is calcium and magnesium.

PJURE reduces chlorine and particles but keeps dissolved minerals, so your TDS value stays about the same. That's expected — a TDS meter can't show chlorine reduction.

Reverse Osmosis (RO) pushes water through an ultra-fine membrane using high pressure. It removes almost everything — including the calcium and magnesium that give water its taste — and sends part of the water to the drain. Many RO systems therefore add a separate remineralisation stage.

PJURE, on the other hand, uses 3+1 filtration:

• 3 cleaning stages that reduce chlorine, taste and odour, sediment and many organic compounds
• 1 mineral stage that keeps calcium and magnesium in the water for a natural taste

Unlike RO, PJURE needs no electricity, no pressure tank and sends no water to the drain — and it installs under any sink in about 10 minutes.

PJURE is designed for treated municipal tap water that's already safe to drink — it reduces chlorine, taste, odour and sediment in water that has already passed safety testing.

It is not designed or tested to make unsafe water safe, and it does not address bacteria or other pathogens. If you're on a private well, get your water tested and confirmed safe to drink first. Once it's confirmed potable, PJURE can be used afterwards to improve taste.

No — PJURE doesn't soften water or remove the calcium and magnesium that cause hardness, because those are exactly the minerals it's designed to keep. If limescale buildup on appliances is your main concern, that's a separate problem a water softener addresses. PJURE focuses on taste, chlorine and sediment — not water hardness.

The flow rate is about 3.8 liters per minute, tested under 4.1 bar, which is typical water pressure in most European homes.

Everything comes pre-assembled. Simply:

1. Connect the inlet hose to your cold-water line.
2. Connect the outlet hose to your faucet line.
3. Use the included 3/8” → 1/2” adapter set if needed(fits all EU hoses).
4. Turn on the water and flush for 5 minutes before first use.

Replacing your PJURE filter is quick and simple:

1. Turn off the cold-water supply and open the faucet to release pressure.
2. Use the included wrench to unscrew the stainless-steel housing and remove the old cartridge.
3. Insert the new PJURE filter and tighten the housing securely.
4. Turn the water back on and flush for 5 minutes before use.

The PJURE system costs €159 as a one-off purchase, or €139 on subscription. Replacement filter cartridges are €49 each, or €39/year on subscription.

The stainless steel housing is reused, so you replace only the cartridge — once every 12 months or 30,000 litres.

One cartridge filters as much water as about 20,000 bottles of 1.5 L.

Unlike reverse-osmosis systems, PJURE sends no water to the drain and needs no electricity.
